SUAB Basketball league rules and policies

Each team (MUST) have at minimum of four players five minutes prior to tip off or team will be forced to forfeit. Each team must arrive twenty minutes prior to game time for check in. The game clock stops after the last two minutes of the fourth period and overtime.

Referees will evaluate the delay of game violation.

There will be 5 minutes overtime.

There will be two timeouts per overtime. Initially, there were three timeouts for the teams.

The timeouts period of the game is the same whether televised or not televised. (6 full, 1 20-second per half).

Another regulation is the 24-second shot clock. As a team, if you possess the ball you have 24 seconds to attempt a shot.

Both teams must have a total of six 60-seconds timeouts in a game.

Flagrant foul and foul:

The player foul limit for each player is 6 The numbers of players allowed on a free throw lane are five—3 defensive players and 2 offensive players Lastly, fighting from the bench is not allowed during an SUAB game. From the general rules, you are not allowed to get off the bench into the field to help your teammates.

This kind of behavior will lead to your suspension for the next game. I bet you do not want to face any of these if you are a player. Therefore, observing this rule will save you that.

Fragrant fouls are also dangerous. The two fouls occur when first, you make unnecessary contact with your opponent. For this, you will be adjourned from your following game.

Also, if you have extreme contact and this one is usually very serious. Here you will be ejected, suspended or kick out of league.

Offensive Three-Second Rule

An offensive player shall not remain for more than three seconds in that part of his free throw lane between the endline and extended 4’ (imaginary) off the court and the farther edge of the free throw line while the ball is in control of his team.

Allowance may be made for a player who, having been in this area for less than three seconds, is in the act of shooting at the end of the third second. Under these conditions, the 3-second count is discontinued while his continuous motion is toward the basket. If that continuous motion ceases, the previous 3-second count is continued. This is also true if it is imminent the offensive player will exit this area.

 Eight-Second Rule

A team shall not be in continuous possession of a ball which is in its backcourt for more than 8 consecutive seconds.
